Blacknose Sheep
The Valais Blacknose is a Swiss mountain sheep breed. Typical are the black spots on the nose, eyes, ears, ankles and feet on white wool.
Female animals are called floodplains, males are called rams or goats. There are peaceful animals that have adapted perfectly to the barren altitudes as skillful climbers and frugal ruminants. A ewe gets 2-3 young per year, often there are twins.
In the Alpsee Bergwelt the sheep have their own enclosure, which lies exactly between the enclosure of the male and female alpacas.
